PARTAGALI: Shrimad Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Math on Friday drew a powerful parallel between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lord Krishna, saying the Prime Minister embodies the virtues and spirit associated with the Mahabharata’s divine guide. Swamiji noted that both Krishna and Modi hail from Dwarka, adding that the PM’s reforms, people-centric governance, and global vaccine assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic reflect Krishna-like ideals. “We regard him as a Dharma Putra,” he said.
Addressing devotees during the 550th-year celebrations of the Partagali Math, Swamiji said the day would be remembered as a golden chapter in the institution’s long history. He praised the Prime Minister’s personal discipline, highlighting that Modi observes Chaturmas with only one meal a day and undertakes a strict nine-day fast during Navratri. Such discipline, Swamiji said, plays a key role in the PM’s effectiveness as a leader.
In a special appeal, Swamiji urged the Prime Minister to observe a fast on Ashadi Ekadashi as well, expressing confidence that if he did, India would reach the goal of becoming a Viksit Bharat even before 2047.
