PONDA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that vision of Swayampurna Goa will be achieved in the Agriculture sector.
“With sustained efforts and coordination of the Govt. and People of Goa the vision of Swayampurna Goa will be achieved in the agriculture sector. The Govt. Agriculture College shall pave the way for development of the sector in the state,” said Sawant
He further said that government is implementing various programs and schemes for the benefit of farmers and increasing agro production in the state.
“The Govt. of Goa has passed legislation to protect the paddy farm lands of Goa, for Goans. The Krishi Mitras are assisting the farmers with delivery of services for enhanced production,” he added
Director, Directorate of Agriculture Nevil Afonso complimented the move of Government towards establishing this college and appreciated the endeavour of the Chief Minister who has contributed in making Agriculture College a reality in Goa.
We will strive to make this College well advanced, well equipped by providing required adequate infrastructure. Foundation stone for the administrative building of this College will be laid in the coming month, he added.
The Director speaking further said that the stakeholders of this College consisting of teaching, non-teaching administrative staff are working hard to serve the very purpose of this College.
The efforts of the staff of this institution are coupled with full support and cooperation of the Government headed by the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, he reiterated. Wishing the College a good future Mr Afonso invited the staff and students to witness the mega agricultural exhibition to be organized shortly.
