CAMURLIM: A 69-year-old tourist from Switzerland died late Sunday night while receiving medical care at Goa Medical College and Hospital.
The deceased, identified as Diego Realini, had been staying alone at Shambala Guest House in Khairat, Camurlim, Bardez, since December 17, 2025. According to police, he had travelled to India on a tourist visa and was residing at the guest house for the past few months.
On March 1 at around 3 pm, Realini reportedly developed health complications in his room and began vomiting. His condition worsened rapidly, prompting the guest house caretaker and owner to arrange for a private ambulance. He was first taken to Vision Hospital in Duler, Mapusa, and later shifted to North District Hospital, Mapusa. As his condition remained critical, he was referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital in an unconscious state for advanced treatment.
Despite medical efforts, he passed away while undergoing treatment at GMC.
Police have stated that there is no suspicion of foul play in the case. Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Vishnu Jadhav of Colvale Police Station.
