PANAJI: Today, Goa Trinamool Congress Leaders has submitted a memorandum to Governor P.S Sreedharan Pillai demanding action against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for alleged corruption during the COVID19 pandemic in the state.
“The government must release a white paper regarding purchases and expenditure during the Covid 19 pandemic. This transparency is of critical importance at this time people’s faith in the institutions of government,” said TMC leader Luizinho Faleiro.
He further said that the Governor should immediately seek resignation from the Chief Minister and announce an investigation by an independent agency to allow a fair enquiry.
“The people of Goa have suffered and been betrayed. The death rate during COVID-19 was the highest in our state, and countless families have been put through misery with the loss of loved ones. It is a dark day in the history of Goa to imagine the scale of profiteering that has taken place at a time of crisis,” TMC said in the memorandum submitted to the Governor.
The letter further stated the need for the hour is to ensure swift action in this matter and ensure the faith of the people of Goa in the institutions created to protect them can be restored.
