PANAJI: Sadanand Shet Tanavade has been appointed as a Member of the India–Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, an initiative aimed at strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and enhancing engagement between lawmakers of India and Ukraine.
Expressing gratitude over the appointment, Tanavade thanked Narendra Modi, Om Birla, and Amit Shah for reposing their trust in him and entrusting him with the responsibility.
The Parliamentary Friendship Groups serve as a platform for legislators to directly interact with their counterparts in other countries, exchange legislative experiences, and foster trust through sustained dialogue. The India–Ukraine group is expected to deliberate on key areas such as trade, technology, social policy, culture, and broader global challenges faced by democracies, thereby contributing to stronger bilateral ties and mutual understanding.
Speaking on the occasion, Tanavade said he was honoured to be part of the India–Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group and looked forward to promoting dialogue, cooperation and understanding between the two nations.
The formation of such Friendship Groups underlines India’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and reflects the significant role Parliament plays in building and sustaining the country’s international partnerships.
