Panaji: Tanaya Naik has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading Goa’s Women’s Under 23 side in the Women’s U-23 One Day Trophy 2025–26, as the team prepares for a competitive campaign in Women’s U-23 One Day Trophy. The tournament will be held in Dehradun from March 3 to March 11, 2026, bringing together promising young cricketers from across the country.
Placed in Group E, Goa will face a demanding league schedule with five matches lined up over nine days. The team will begin its journey against Hyderabad on March 3, followed by encounters with Saurashtra on March 5 and Chandigarh on March 7. The final phase of the group stage will see Goa take on Andhra on March 9 before concluding their league fixtures against Delhi on March 11. The format is expected to test both consistency and depth, with minimal recovery time between matches.
The selected squad reflects a balanced mix of leadership, all round potential, and emerging talent. Alongside captain Tanaya Naik, the team includes Harshita Yadav, Urvashi Govekar, Tanisha Gaikawad, Pooja Kalel, Presha Naik, Palak Arondekar, Savali Kolambkar, Metali Gawander, Nirmiti Khanvilkar, Vidika Sawant, Swarali Kasar, Siddhi Savase, Kimya Desai, Harshada Kadam, Mrunmayee Bhike, and Shilpa Sharma. The group combines players with domestic exposure and several youngsters eager to make a mark at the national level.
The upcoming tournament is viewed as an important platform for Goa’s women cricketers to demonstrate their progress and compete against some of the strongest state sides in the country.
