PORVORIM: Police have registered an offence against a tanker driver for allegedly driving rashly and injuring a 21-year-old youth in a road mishap that occurred below the under-construction flyover bridge at Porvorim.
As per the complaint filed by Krish Sharma (21), resident of Porvorim, the incident took place on November 7, 2025, around 4:43 pm near the Adora Building, opposite the petrol pump at Porvorim.
The accused, identified as Vivek Yadav (24), driver of a Tata water tanker (RJ-14-GR-3399) and resident of RRSM Pvt. Ltd staff accommodation, Girim, was proceeding towards Mapusa when he allegedly took a left turn in a rash and negligent manner below the flyover without exercising proper caution.
At that time, the complainant, who was riding a two-wheeler (GA-09-J-9732) parallel to the tanker on its left side, was hit when the rear wheel of the tanker crushed his right leg, causing simple injuries.
Following the incident, Porvorim Police registered an offence against the tanker driver under relevant provisions for rash and negligent driving. The investigation is being conducted by HC Vikram Naik of Porvorim Police Station.
