PANAJI: Prior to its first meeting, which is set for October 22, 2024, the recently formed 13-member Kala Academy Task Force will conduct an inspection of the Kala Academy Complex on October 21.
“The first meeting of the Task Force Committee constituted to review the present status of infrastructure work of Kala Academy and suggest necessary recommendations for improvement and upgradation of Kala Academy will be held on October 22,” stated an order issued by Santosh Mhapne, Member Secretary, Task Force Committee.
The purpose of the Task Force Committee, which is led by theatre artist Vijay Kenkre, is to examine the current state of Kala Academy’s infrastructure projects and make the required suggestions for their enhancement.
It was established in response to artist complaints about the haphazard renovations being done on the landmark structure, even though the work was costing crores.
Members of the committee include representatives from Kala Academy, the Public Works Department (PWD), the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), and the Kala Rakhonn Mand and Charles Correia Foundation.
The committee’s objective is to assess the current state of Kala Academy’s infrastructure work and make recommendations for its enhancement and modernization.
