CANACONA: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, along with former Chief Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for road development works worth ₹6.63 crore at and around Shree Gokarna Jeevottam Math, Partagal.
The works include strengthening and improving the existing road to Partagal Math (₹2.81 crore), constructing an approach road (₹1.91 crore), and hot-mixing surrounding roads (₹1.90 crore).
The upgrades come ahead of the “Sardha Panchashatamantosav” — a grand 550th-anniversary celebration of the Math — which will feature spiritual, cultural, and devotional programmes from November 27 to December 7, 2025. Officials said the improved connectivity will also benefit locals.
The event was attended by Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Ramesh Tawadkar, Panchayat members, Partagal Math Committee members, and PWD officials. Before the ceremony, Tawadkar and Kamat offered prayers to Lord Shree Ram under the blessings of Mathadipati H.H. Shrimad Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji and reviewed ongoing renovation works at the Math.
