MORJIM: An offence has been registered in Pernem against a 28-year-old man for allegedly wrongfully restraining, threatening, and stealing a dash camera from a taxi driver near Morjim.
As per police information, the complaint was lodged by Mr. Sakharam Morajkar (45), a resident of Amaiwada, Virnoda, Pernem. The offence was registered on 16.02.2026 at 23:19 hrs.
The complainant stated that on 16.02.2026 at around 17:30 hrs, near Zostel Resort at Morjim, the accused Joy Desouza (28), a resident of Morjim, along with others sharing common intention, allegedly confronted him over the issue of picking up customers for Goa Miles Taxi services.
It is alleged that the accused wrongfully restrained the complainant by blocking his way, abused him in filthy language, criminally intimidated him, and stole a dash camera along with its memory card worth Rs 8,500, which was installed inside the complainant’s car.
Police have registered the offence, and further investigation is being carried out by ASI Tanaji Patil.
