CALANGUTE: Calangute Police have booked a taxi driver for allegedly assaulting a 26-year-old man with a broken bottle, causing grievous injuries, following a personal dispute.
According to police, complainant Noor Ahmad (26), native of Assam and resident near Ticlo Resort, Maddo Waddo, Calangute, reported that on September 18, 2025, around 5.30 pm, the accused Shiva Kumar S. (34), taxi driver, originally from Bangalore and residing at Maddo Waddo, Calangute, attacked him near Ticlo Resort.
Police said the accused allegedly used a broken glass bottle to assault the complainant on the back of his neck, inflicting grievous injuries. The incident reportedly arose over a dispute concerning the complainant’s wife’s alleged affair with the accused.
Calangute Police registered the case late at night at 23.57 hrs under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Vighnesh Naik.
