COLVA: Colva Police have registered a case against a taxi driver and two unidentified accomplices for allegedly wrongfully restraining another taxi and its passengers outside a resort in Varca.
According to police, complainant Mohamad Isaik Emam Hussen, a resident of Bhagbhat, Raia, reported that the incident occurred on March 26 at around 11 am outside Club Mahindra, Varca. The accused, identified as Anthony along with two other taxi drivers from Varca, allegedly acted with common intention to block the complainant’s taxi.
Police said the complainant was transporting five guests in his vehicle when the accused allegedly restrained the taxi, objecting to the guests choosing another tourist taxi instead of theirs.
Based on the complaint, Colva Police registered FIR No. 23/2026 under Section 126(2) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Manju Vantamuri of Colva Police Station.
