PANAJI: TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that his department has not given any permission for hill cutting in the last 6 months.
“TCP has not given any permission for hill cutting in the last 6 months. In the case of Reis-Magos, the project’s conversion sanad was obtained in 1994, change of zone was done in RP 2001,” said Vishwajit.
He further informed that the first approval was given in 1995 while revised approval was given in 2008 and that wrong information is spread among the public regarding the same.
“Wherever hill cutting is going on, its being done illegally. The Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar, and Talathi’s have to act on this as directed by the Chief Minister. TCP has no role in this,” he added.
The TCP minister said that his department has acted on all the complaints brought to us. Hence we are proposing new amendments to fine these people under which the minimum fine will be Rs. 25 lakh which can go up Rs. 1 crore depending on the size of the land, said Rane.
