PANAJI: The Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department has reconstituted a committee to evaluate proposals seeking additional height and Floor Area Ratio (FAR) under the provisions of the Goa Land Development and Building Construction Regulations, 2010.
These relaxations are granted by the government on a case-by-case basis, based on the recommendation of the TCP Board, taking into account factors such as location and the nature of the proposed development.
The revamped committee will be headed by Chief Town Planner (Planning) Vertika Dagur and includes Paresh Gaitonde, Rajeev Sukhthankar, Gayle Veronica Araujo, and Anand Deshpande as members, with Vinod Kumar Chandra serving as the member secretary.
According to the official notification, the panel has been tasked with the scrutiny, verification, and assessment of all such proposals before they are presented to the TCP Board for final approval.
The reconstitution is intended to streamline the decision-making process and ensure that proposals are thoroughly vetted in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Sources said that this move reflects the government’s focus on maintaining oversight and ensuring responsible urban development while allowing flexibility for projects that meet the required criteria.
