St Estevam:
Twelve students of Class 9 at a school in St Estevam were allegedly beaten with a wooden stick and verbally abused by a teacher for reportedly engaging in mischief while leaving the school premises after classes, police said on Thursday.
According to officials, parents of some of the students have lodged a formal complaint against the teacher at the Old Goa Police Station.
“A few of the children sustained bruises and minor injuries. They have been taken for medical examination,” a police officer said.
Further inquiry into the incident is underway and more details are awaited, he added.
