Saligao: The All Goa Badminton Tournament came to a close with an electrifying final match at the Government Primary School floodlit court in Saligao, showcasing a dynamic mix of youth, veteran, and mixed doubles categories. Team Avadut, Siddhesh, and Sujal emerged as the champions, outplaying their formidable opponents in a highly competitive tournament sponsored by Aniruddh Harmalkar in memory of his father, Late Arjun Harmalkar.
Champions Emerge in a Hard-Fought Battle
Team Avadut, Siddhesh, and Sujal clinched the top honors at the All Goa Badminton Tournament, held at the Government Primary School floodlit court in Saligao. The winning team defeated Team Samir, Shubham, and Siddharth in an intense final match that highlighted the skills and determination of all participants.
The tournament, meticulously organized by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, Saligao, brought together eight teams, each comprising two youth and one veteran badminton player. This unique team composition added a layer of complexity and excitement to the competition, with teams competing in both Men’s Doubles and Veteran Mixed Doubles categories.
The winning team’s victory was rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the prestigious winners’ trophy. The runners-up team, consisting of Samir, Shubham, and Siddharth, received a cash prize of Rs 8,000 and the runners-up trophy.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by sponsor Aniruddh Harmalkar, Secretary Satchit Gaonkar, and organizing Secretary Deepak Navelkar, among other committee members of Adarsh Yuvak Sangh. The event was a heartfelt tribute to Late Arjun Harmalkar, reflecting the community’s commitment to promoting badminton and honoring its patrons.
