Panjim: Team HighFly MMA, representing Goa, made an impressive mark at the National Level MMA Championship held on October 11 and 12 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Organized by HADES MMA, the competition brought together top fighters from across India, but it was the HighFly team that stood out with their exceptional skill and determination.
The team’s stellar performance earned them four gold medals, including four spectacular knockouts, bringing pride to Goa and elevating the stature of the HighFly MMA community on the national stage.
This remarkable success is attributed to the expert coaching and leadership of Deepika Shetty, whose dedication and strategic training were pivotal in preparing the athletes for their victories.
The gold medal winners from Team HighFly MMA included Kunal Shetye Sir, Gopal Naik, and Samuel D’Souza in the MMA category, while Faizan Shaikh claimed gold in the kickboxing event. Coach Deepika Shetty praised the fighters for their discipline, commitment, and sportsmanship both inside and outside the cage, emphasizing that their hard work and focus were crucial to their success.
