Cuncolim: A 16-year-old boy was found dead at his residence in Kegdicotto, Cuncolim on Saturday evening.
According to police, the incident came to light on March 8 at around 7:14 pm when 108 Emergency Services in Panaji informed authorities about an unresponsive person at Sanjay Colony, Kegdicotto Power House. The boy was shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Balli, where the on-duty doctor declared him brought dead.
The boy, a native of Bihar, was later identified by family members. Police conducted an inquest panchanama, and the body was sent to South Goa District Hospital, Margao for postmortem. The autopsy certified the cause of death as asphyxia.
After formalities were completed, the body was handed over to the family for final rites. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Aditya Sawant of Cuncolim Police Station.
