MORJIM: Reacting to Khapreshwar temple demolition, Porvorim MLA and Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that politicizing the issue now will serve no purpose as consent was given by these same people in 2019.
“Pure Political Drama!From 2019 to 2022, when I was in opposition, the same people now raising concerns had filed and agreed to the consent terms. You can check the government’s records to see who signed them,” said Khaunte
He further said that these terms were approved by the Supreme Court, after which the project was tendered and executed.
“At that time, the MLA had no role in it. Now that it’s a central government project, those who once gave consent are suddenly changing their stance, this is purely local politics,” he added
Khaunte said that as for Dev Khapreshwar, the CM has already addressed it.
“What happened yesterday could have been decided in 2019, but now they are trying to drag the MLA into it is a pure political drama,” said Khaunte
