Curchorem: Unknown persons allegedly set fire to a temporary wooden shed erected for labourers engaged in the construction of a football playground at Vodlemol, Kakoda, causing damage estimated at around ₹70,000.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Amit Chowgule, a resident of Kakoda, Curchorem and native of Belgaum, Karnataka. The incident reportedly occurred between 8:30 pm on March 4 and 8:30 am on March 5.
Police said the accused persons set fire to a temporary wooden structure that had been erected to accommodate labourers working on the construction of a football playground allotted by the Goa State Urban Development Agency. The blaze also damaged galvanized metal sheets used in the structure.
Curchorem police have registered a case of mischief by fire against unknown persons.
