New Delhi: US electric vehicle giant Tesla will open its second India showroom in Delhi on August 11, weeks after launching its debut outlet in Mumbai. The company confirmed the expansion in a post on X, saying, “Arriving in Delhi – stay tuned”, along with a teaser graphic.
Tesla’s first India showroom was inaugurated on July 15 at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), alongside the launch of its first Supercharging facility in the same area.
With its India entry, Tesla has rolled out the Model Y midsize electric SUV, priced from ₹60 lakh onwards. Initially, it will be available in two variants:
Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): ₹60 lakh
Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD): ₹68 lakh
An optional Full Self-Driving (FSD) package can be added for ₹6 lakh. Deliveries and registrations will, for now, be limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram. Pricing may vary based on state taxes.
The Model Y RWD offers a 600 km range and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 6 seconds, while the LR RWD variant extends the range to 622 km with a faster 5.6-second sprint. Both support Tesla’s Supercharging, adding up to 267 km in just 15 minutes.
Customers can choose from six exterior colours — Stealth Grey (no extra cost), Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue (extra charge). Interior options include black or white themes, with a five-seat configuration.
Features include heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats with power folding, eight exterior cameras for driver assistance, upgraded connectivity hardware, and a hands-free power trunk.
Deliveries are expected to begin in Q3 2025, marking a significant step in Tesla’s push into the world’s third-largest automobile market as India accelerates its electric vehicle adoption under the EV policy framework.
