THANE; MLA Dr. Deviya Rane has assured that Thane Panchayat will be developed into a leading model in the region by providing quality infrastructure and tourism facilities. She was speaking at a special programme organised for the citizens of Thane Panchayat area at Valpoi.
Dr. Rane announced that the Goa Tourism Development Corporation will soon lay the foundation stone for an eco-tourism cottage project at Surla, which will generate local employment and promote the area’s food culture. She also said that a ground will be constructed to encourage sports activities and provide opportunities to local players.
Highlighting recent initiatives, she said facilities have been created at the Pali waterfall, which now attracts large numbers of tourists during monsoons. A proper road has been built to the site, improving access and boosting village development. She urged citizens to treat visitors with warmth to enhance tourism potential.
Dr. Rane further stated that the long-pending Pali–Belgaum road project has been completed, significantly improving connectivity. “Many development schemes are in progress and will benefit the people in the near future,” she assured.
Thane Sarpanch Nilesh Parwar, in his address, expressed gratitude to Dr. Rane, noting that long-standing issues such as hot mix roads and drinking water facilities in all wards have been resolved through her efforts.
The programme was attended by ZP member Devyani Gavas, Dy. Sarpanch Sonia Gawakar, social activist Vinod Shinde, senior journalist Uday Sawant, Bhironda Sarpanch Uday Singh Rane, panchayat members and others. The dignitaries were felicitated with bouquets on the occasion.
A large number of locals were present at the function held at Valpoi Kadamba Hall.
