MARGAO: With a surge in COVID-19 cases at Margao, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has stated that operations at Hospicio Hospital will be shifted to New South Goa District Hospital and the old hospital will be used as COVID hospital for Pre-Natal & Ante-Natal activities.
Rane informed that this new facility will be operational by September 1, 2020.
“The Government is taking all necessary measures to fight the virus and provide our citizens with quality health care services. The Govt has prepared another battleground to combat the virus.” said Rane
He said, “Operations at Hospicio Hospital will be shifted to New South Goa District Hospital & the old hospital will be used as COVID hospital for Pre-Natal & Ante-Natal activities.”
The Health Minsiter also informed that the new facility will be operational by September 1.
Recent rapid testing was taken up at South Goa district hospital to reduce the load on government labs in the state that are struggling with a backlog of over 4,000 RT-PCR tests.
