PONDA: Unidentified miscreants broke into the Bhoma-Adcona Panchayat building in Ponda and made away with electrical equipment and other items valued at nearly ₹1.93 lakh.
According to a complaint filed by Atchutanand Naik, Junior Engineer of the Electricity Department, Marcela, the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. on September 26 and 9 a.m. on September 27. The accused persons reportedly gained entry by breaking open the main lock of the building.
Stolen items include 200 metres of conductor (Ant), 250 metres of conductor (Gnat), 33 LED lights, 12 four-pin channels, 10 two-pin channels, 15 clamps, and one aluminium ladder, together estimated at ₹1,92,858.
The case has been registered at Mardol Police Station under Crime No. 39/2025 for offences punishable under Sections 305, 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigation has been entrusted to PSI Rochan Martins.
