PONDA: A case of theft has been reported at Shree Bhavani Siddhapurush Prassanna Temple after unknown persons allegedly broke into the temple premises late Tuesday night.
According to a complaint lodged by Prasad Satchit Parkar, resident of Dhavali, Ponda, and Treasurer of the temple, the incident occurred between 11/02/2026 at around 23:00 hrs and 12/02/2026 at about 00:41 hrs.
The complainant stated that the accused gained entry into the temple by breaking open the metallic grill of a window. The intruders then allegedly forced open the door of the Garbhagriha and decamped with a gold mangalsutra and a gold nose pin adorning the Goddess. The total value of the stolen ornaments is estimated at approximately Rs. 10,000.
Ponda Police have registered a case of theft against unknown persons. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ashish Velip of Ponda Police Station.
