PANAJI: The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant finally admitted that ‘All is not Well’ within his cabinet; but brushed aside the submission, stating that these are minor issues and he is not much bothered about such things
In an interview to a local channel, Sawant said that when a family grows, difference of opinion ought be there but such minor things don’t hamper his work.
According to Sawant, the BJP central leadership makes all decisions, even those involving a change in leadership, a reshuffle of the cabinet, or a reshuffle of the portfolio, and the State unit has no input.
The central party, the BJP, does not make decisions at the state level.I shall confer with the party high command over the reorganization of the cabinet. Although it will take time, a cabinet change will eventually occur. “Portfolio reshuffle will also take place,” he added, “not so soon.”
“My goal is to make sure that we are able to maintain our good governance over the next two and a half years so that we win the next election with a full majority,” he continued.
Sawant did not, however, rule out a leadership transition. Since the State has not experienced a significant crisis that would necessitate a change in leadership, there is no question of a leadership transition. “State is operating efficiently,” he stated.
“There is no justification for changing the leadership…By God’s grace, I have the support of all MLAs and citizens,” the chief minister said.
Sawant responded, “When family grows…these things will happen,” when asked if everything in the party or cabinet was going poorly. The problems are minor when the family is tiny. However, these are small matters; I prioritize the nation and state over the party, so I’m not very bothered by them.
Sawant acknowledged that a hostile campaign has been initiated on social media to target him. Only those who can afford it, like the opposition, can run such a campaign, he claimed.
