Thivim: In a bold act of burglary, unidentified thieves targeted two shops in the Volvonem area of Thivim, making away with cash estimated between ₹60,000 and ₹70,000. The culprits also attempted to break into the local post office and vandalized several two-wheelers parked nearby.
Upon receiving the alert, Mapusa DySP Wilson D’Souza, along with a team from the Colvale Police Station, promptly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and have launched a manhunt to apprehend the offenders.
Meanwhile, local residents have voiced growing concern over rising thefts and have called on police to intensify night patrolling in the locality.
