Colvale: A 31-year-old man who had been undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in a motorbike accident in Thivim in April this year has died at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim.
Police identified the deceased as Shameer Babusab Nadaf, a resident of Madel, Thivim, originally from Belgaum, Karnataka. He was admitted to GMC on April 16, 2025, following a self-accident while riding pillion with his cousin from Auchitwado towards Thivim main road.
According to police, the accident had caused a cervical spine injury. Despite surgical and medical treatment over the past four months, Shameer succumbed to septicaemia and shock, as certified by the police surgeon during the post-mortem.
An Unnatural Death (UD) case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023 at Colvale Police Station. The investigation is being conducted by PSI Dattaraj Rane.
