PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said those who have to be punished will be punished by Goa Police 100 per cent.
CM Sawant was speaking in regard to the Sonali Phogat Death Case.
“Full support from day one in the investigation. Those who have to be punished will be punished by Goa Police 100%,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that the accused are currently in custody and an investigation is going on.
Sawant said that many different types of tourists come to Goa for tourism purposes, and we try to make it possible for tourists not to face any hurdles when in the state.
“Be it a drug peddler or any other person. Any involvement in the case that person will have to face the law. Goa Police is carrying out the investigation,” he added.
The police have so far interrogated more than 25 people in the case, including the staff at the restaurant, the resort where Phogat was staying, the hospital where she was declared brought dead, and her driver.
Phogat was at the famous restaurant-cum-nightclub on Anjuna beach on Monday, where she was forcibly made to drink “some obnoxious substance” mixed in water by Sangwan and Singh, the police said yesterday, citing security camera footage and alleged confessions.
