PANAJI: Pernem police on Friday seized three trucks and arrested three Kudal residents for illegal transportation of sand on National Highway at Pernem without any pass from the concerned authority.
Accordingly, the said complaint is discussed
with PI Pernem PS and, upon his directions registered an offense as under. Accused: 1. Mr. Gurunagth s/o Dattaram Gawde, aged 32 yrs, R/o Goveri Kudal Maharashtra, driver of a truck bearing No. MH 07 AJ 2816, 2. Mr. Sudarshan s/o Laxman Varak, aged 35 yrs, R/o Sharmal Kudal Maharashtra, driver of a truck bearing No. MH 07 C 6453, 3. Sanjay s/o Janu Varak, aged 27 yrs, R/o Mulde Kudal Maharashtra, driver of truck bearing No. MH 06 BD 0180 and 4. Anant s/0 Arjun Parab, aged 32 yrs, R/o Gavnale Kudal Maharashtra, driver of truck bearing No. MH 07 X 0938.
On Friday night at Penmen highway the all
above noted accused persons committed theft of sand mineral from the river without any lease or license from the competent authority
and clandestinely transported the same without
permission from concerned authorities for personal gain from the possession of State Government in the truck bearing No. 1. MH 07
AJ 2816, 2. MH 07 C 6453, 3. MH 06 BD 0180 and 4. MH 07 X 0938.
Hence offense U/sec 379 IPC and Sec 21 of Mines and Mineral Development and Regulations, 1957 stands registered.
