VASCO: Vasco police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly abusing, assaulting, and threatening a local resident and his family in the early hours of August 5 in Baina, Vasco.
As per a complaint filed by Sandhya Chauhan, the incident occurred around 1:00 AM when the accused — identified as Sharnay Palkar, Saish Thapa, and Toufiq, all residents of Vasco — allegedly abused her husband, Shiva Harijan, in filthy language over a prior enmity.
The complaint further states that accused Sharnay Palkar forcibly entered their residence, dragged Harijan out of the house, and along with the other two accused, physically assaulted him using fists and kicks. Saish Thapa is alleged to have struck Harijan on the leg with an empty cooking gas cylinder, causing visible injuries.
The accused trio also reportedly issued life threats to the complainant, her husband, and a neighbour.
Vasco police have registered the case under Sections 352, 329(4), 118(2), 115(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The investigation is being led by LPSI Archana Gaonkar of Vasco Police Station, under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
