Benaulim: In a violent late-night altercation, three individuals allegedly assaulted a youth with a glass bottle, causing bleeding injuries, and issued death threats over a dispute that escalated suddenly.
The incident occurred around 2:00 am in the parking area of a restaurant in Benaulim.
As per the complaint lodged by Sahil Shaikh, a resident of Chandravaddo, Fatorda, the accused — identified as Akash Athvekar, Wilson Carvalho, and Saeesh, all residents of Margao — acted in a coordinated manner. The trio reportedly attacked the complainant with a glass bottle, resulting in a head injury, and then threatened him with dire consequences.
The case is currently being investigated by PSI Prashant Bhagat of Colva Police Station. Authorities are examining the motive and circumstances surrounding the provocation that led to the assault. Further legal action is expected as the investigation progresses.
