VASCO: Vasco Police have registered a case against three persons from Dabolim for allegedly harassing a woman, passing obscene remarks, seeking sexual favours and issuing threats to withdraw a police complaint.
According to police, the complainant, a resident of Dabolim, alleged that the accused — Riyaz Shaikh, Mehboob Shaikh and Prakash alias Pakay — subjected her to harassment and lewd comments over a prolonged period from January 1, 2024 till March 26, 2026 near Marine Resort in Dabolim.
The complaint further stated that on March 25, 2026 at around 5.15 pm, the accused allegedly insulted the complainant by making vulgar remarks and demanded sexual favours from her. The complainant also alleged that her mother was similarly targeted.
Police said that on January 26, 2026 at about 1 am, accused Mehboob Shaikh allegedly called the complainant’s mother and threatened her with dire consequences, asking her to withdraw the complaint and warning against approaching police in future.
Vasco Police have registered the offence and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Plato Carvalho.
