FATORDA: Fatorda Police have registered an offence after a tourist taxi driver was allegedly wrongfully restrained and threatened by three individuals at the KTC bus stand.
The case has been registered as Fatorda PS Cr. No. 89/2025 under Sections 126(1), 351(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
The complaint was filed by Ramesh Pagui, a resident of Saleri Cola, who alleged that around 5:00 pm on November 18, 2025, the accused—identified as Mayur Rane of Sirvoi Quepem, Saleem Shaikh of Comba Cuncolim, and Abdul Rehman of Azadnagar, Calconda Margao—approached him while he was at the Fatorda KTC Bus Stand with his tourist Maruti Suzuki Ertiga after dropping a client from Palolem, Canacona.
The accused, who were reportedly on an Aviator scooter, allegedly wrongfully restrained the complainant for nearly 20 minutes, preventing him from proceeding further, and then threatened him over the issue of dropping tourists in the area.
Further investigation is being conducted by LPSI Sukhada Prabhudessai of Fatorda Police Station.
