CUNCOLIM: Cuncolim Police have registered a case of suspected culpable homicide after a man went missing under suspicious circumstances at Betul seashore in Quepem.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Nawab Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, regarding the disappearance of his son Surjeet Singh. The incident reportedly occurred on December 7, 2025, at around 3:45 am near the mouth of the River Sal at Betul.
Police stated that three accused—Sonu Kumar (Uttar Pradesh), Sanjay Singh and Anuj Singh (both residents of New Delhi)—had allegedly called the victim to the seashore. The accused are suspected to have offered him drinks on the pretext of enjoyment, intoxicated him, and then lured him into the sea, fully aware that such an act could result in his death.
Since the incident, the victim has remained missing and untraceable despite continuous search efforts, raising strong suspicion of culpable homicide.
A case has been registered under Section 105 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Cuncolim Police Station (Crime No. 11/2026).
