Parra: Police have registered a case against three persons and others yet to be identified in connection with an assault and vandalism incident reported at Parra, Bardez.
According to the complaint lodged by Abdul Munaf Makandar (21), a resident of Guirim, the incident occurred on January 21 at around 2.30 pm near Madani, Parra. The accused—Raunak Korgaonkar, Dattaram Harmalkar and Kenrick Rodrigues, all residents of Saligao, along with three unknown persons—allegedly abused the complainant and his friends Sohil Gaus Khan Inamdar and Mithun Sanju Rathod over a personal dispute.
Police said the accused persons used filthy and abusive language, assaulted the victims with slaps, fist blows and a metal baton stick, causing bodily injuries. They also allegedly threatened the victims with dire consequences.
The accused are further alleged to have damaged the complainant’s vehicle, causing a loss of approximately ₹1 lakh, besides damaging a mobile phone and wristwatch belonging to Sohil Inamdar (loss of about ₹20,000) and a mobile handset of Mithun Rathod (loss of about ₹10,000).
The case was registered on January 22 at 4.50 pm. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Yeshwant Mandrekar.
