CHIMBEL: Old Goa Police have booked three persons for engaging in illegal gambling activities in an open area at Chimbel, Tiswadi. The offence, registered as Cr. No. 120/2025 under Section 11(2)(a) of the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, was lodged based on a complaint by PSI Edvin Dias of Old Goa Police Station.
According to the police, on October 5, 2025, at around 9:00 p.m., a raid was conducted in an open space near the water tank at Chimbel, where the accused were allegedly found playing the card game “Andhar Bahar.”
The accused has been identified as Satish Govind Shirvoikar (39), a resident of House No. 105, Indira Nagar; Hassan Chaman Shaikh (27), residing at Indira Nagar; and Ravi Shantaram Kerkar (60), a resident of House No. 722, Indira Nagar, Chimbel.
Police said the trio was caught red-handed during the raid, and a total of ₹2,000 in cash in different denominations along with gambling articles was seized from the spot. Further investigation is in progress.
