MARGAO: Margao Town Police have arrested three persons in connection with the theft of a Honda Activa 5G scooter and recovered six stolen two-wheelers during the investigation.
According to police, Crime No. 32/2026 was registered under Section 303(2) of the BNS following a complaint filed by Ahmed Hussain Patel regarding the theft of his Honda Activa 5G. During the course of investigation, police traced and arrested the accused identified as Mohammad Shaikh (35), a labourer residing near the Wholesale Fish Market, Margao; Prasanjit Burman (30), a labourer residing near Holy Spirit Church, Margao, and a native of Assam; and Raja Hiremath (21), residing near KTC Bus Stand area, Margao, and a native of Karnataka.
Police recovered the stolen scooter from the accused. During interrogation, the trio allegedly confessed to committing thefts of five more two-wheelers, which were subsequently recovered.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of PI Arun Dessai of Margao Police Station, with overall supervision of SDPO Margao and SP South.
