CANACONA: Preparations for the once-in-a-lifetime Sardha Panchashatamanotsava celebrations of the revered Partagali Math have reached their final stage, with three helipads constructed to receive Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his entourage now fully ready as of Monday.
The three helipads, located within a few metres of each other and approximately half a kilometre from the Math, have been completed in all respects. They have been specially prepared to accommodate the simultaneous arrival of three helicopters carrying the Prime Minister and accompanying dignitaries on Friday.
PM Modi is scheduled to unveil a towering 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Rama, one of the permanent projects commemorating the 550-year completion (Sardha Panchashatamanotsava) of Shree Sansthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math (SSGPJM), Partagali–Canacona.
To facilitate the landings, the construction involved clearing dense vegetation and levelling the ground near the Math.
Upon arrival, Prime Minister Modi will be received and blessed by Vidyadesh Teertha Swamiji, the 24th pontiff of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math (also known as Gokarna Math or Partagali Jivottama Math), the first Gaud Saraswat Math of the Dvaita tradition founded by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century.
