MARGAO: Three history-sheeters – Valley D’Costa, Amogh Naik and Prakash Karbhar – surrendered before the South Goa Superintendent of Police in connection with the sensational Mungul attack case.
The case relates to a violent pre-dawn assault near Shagun Restaurant along the Margao–Colva road, where victims Rafiq Tashan (24) and Yuvkesh Singh Badaila (20) were intercepted and brutally attacked.
Police said around 20 assailants, including Rahul Talwar of Borda, Wilson Carvalho, Shahrukh of Davorlim, Rasool of Margao and several masked men, arrived in multiple cars and set upon the duo with swords, sticks, soda bottles and koytas.
The attackers also fired two bullets at the victims’ car before fleeing.
The vehicle sustained bullet damage and was left extensively damaged.
Singh underwent surgery at Goa Medical College, while Tashan remains admitted in the ward.
Police said investigations are in progress to apprehend the remaining accused involved in the case.
