VERNA: A road accident near Quadros Open Air Hall, Bypass Highway, Verna, resulted in grievous injuries to two women.
The incident occurred at around 12:30 PM when two scooters collided due to alleged rash and negligent riding.
According to a complaint filed by Head Constable Sudhakar Jadhav of Verna Police Station, Sachin Dessai, the rider of an Activa scooter (KA-65-J-7488), was traveling from Margao towards Nagao, Verna.
Upon reaching the accident site, he reportedly took a sudden U-turn without proper care and precaution.
This caused an Ola scooter (GA-08-AS-2980), traveling in the same direction towards Panaji, to collide with the Activa.
The rider of the Ola scooter, identified as Pooja Kudalkar, along with her pillion rider, Archana Kudalkar, both residents of Amrut Nagar, Gogal, Margao, sustained grievous injuries in the collision.
The Verna Police have registered an offense under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the BNS. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of Sudhakar Jadhav of the Verna police station to ascertain further details about the incident.
