PANAJI: The Department of Urban Development (Municipal Administration) has nominated three persons as councillors to the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) with immediate effect.
As per the notification dated April 2, 2026, issued under Section 9(1)(b) of the City of Panaji Corporation Act, 2002, the government nominated individuals with special knowledge and experience in municipal administration.
The nominated councillors are Dennis Edward Francis Jorge, Shekhar Degvekar and Maria Regina Almeida.
The order was issued by Director of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Brijesh Manerkar, by order and in the name of the Governor of Goa.
The notification has been forwarded to the State Election Commission, CCP Mayor, Commissioner of the Corporation of the City of Panaji and other concerned authorities for necessary action.
