ANJUNA: The Anjuna Police have arrested three men for their alleged involvement in the violent assault of two local youths at Vagator late on Sunday night. The accused have been identified as S. Mousheel, a native of Bengaluru, Saurav Karoga from Uttarakhand, and Dharam Upreti from Maharashtra — all of whom were employed at a restaurant in the Anjuna area. A fourth suspect remains absconding, police confirmed.
The arrests stem from a shocking incident in which two locals were attacked by a group of men, sustaining serious injuries, while their vehicle was damaged during the altercation.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the confrontation began after the accused allegedly passed remarks at the victims, which led to an argument that quickly escalated into violence. The victims were hospitalised for treatment, and their statements provided crucial leads in the case.
Based on their testimony and CCTV footage from nearby establishments, police managed to trace and apprehend the three accused.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and search operations are underway to locate the remaining fugitive.
Police assured that all those responsible for the assault will be brought to justice and that strict action will follow upon completion of the investigation.
