COLVA: Colva Police have booked three local taxi drivers for allegedly restraining an online-booked tourist taxi and harassing a hotel guest outside Nanu Beach Resort, Betalbatim.
According to the state complaint filed by PSI Manju Vantamuri, the incident occurred on September 15 around 12:18 pm, when accused Menino D’Silva, Milagres Almeida, and Agnelo Rodrigues — all residents of Nagvaddo, Betalbatim — allegedly stopped a tourist taxi hired online by guest Rajani Ashish Matta, a resident of Ahmedabad, to drop her to the airport.
The accused not only restrained the driver but also prevented the guest from boarding her booked taxi. Left stranded in the rain with her luggage, the guest was forced to walk several kilometres to find another vehicle, causing her both physical and mental harassment.
Police have registered a case and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Manju Vantamuri of Colva Police Station.
