VASCO: The Goa unit of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Sunday strongly condemned what it called the “humiliation” of Dr Rudresh Kuttikar at the Goa Medical College (GMC) by Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane.
Addressing the media, TMC Goa convenor Mariano Rodrigues said Rane’s behaviour was unacceptable and amounted to “dadagiri” against dedicated medical professionals.
“I want to condemn the incident of humiliating a doctor by Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane. Doctors at GMC work tirelessly — often 24 to 36-hour shifts — and deserve respect, not arrogance,” said Rodrigues.
He added, “Rane should not treat doctors, nurses, or any health staff like slaves. He crossed the line, and Goans will not tolerate this inhuman behaviour.”
Rodrigues demanded action from the ruling BJP, saying, “If the BJP is not trying to treat government servants like slaves, then they must sack Vishwajeet Rane.”
He also recalled a previous instance. “We had highlighted on April 29 how Rane ill-treats doctors. His arrogance shows he believes he’s untouchable in Goan politics, but people will respond at the right time,” Rodrigues said.
