TMC in Goa not to defeat BJP, but to destroy Congress: Goa People’s Forum

PANAJI: Echoing the words of Goa State Congress president Girish Chodankar, the Goa People’s Forum (GPF) said that the Trinamool Congress and Mamata Banerjee are not in Goa to defeat the BJP at the polls, but rather to destroy the Congress.
Shailesh J. Naik of the GPF North Goa unit, while commenting on the arrival of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Goa today said that the real purpose of the TMC is only to destroy the Congress in Goa and then build itself on the bones and corpse of the Congress.
Nail criticized the TMC for poaching Congress leaders, giving them unrealistic incentives and “posts” within the party. After the elections are over, the TMC Goa unit will disappear and cease to exist, after suffering a beating at the polls. The “posts” offered by the TMC are only valid for 4 months, Naik said.
Goa State Congress President Girish Chodankar today tweeted: “Since last 1month TMC landed in Goa, I have always said that @AmitShah & #ED were behind sending @AITCofficial to #Goa. Now, their strategist whose services are hired has confirmed my apprehensions when he said BJP is here to stay. #TMC is here to divide the votes. Agenda exposed.”
Chodankar was responding to TMC’s poll strategist Prashant Kishor’s statements, while speaking at an interaction at an art gallery on Wednesday. Kishor said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was perhaps wrong to assume or presume that it was only a matter of time before the ruling BJP would be voted out by the country’s masses.
“The BJP is going to be the centre of Indian polity whether they win, whether they lose like it was for the first 40 years for the Congress. BJP is going nowhere. Once you secure 30 plus per cent votes at the national level you are not going away in a hurry.
So do not ever get into this trap that people are getting angry and they will throw away Modi. Maybe they will throw away Modi but BJP is not going anywhere, you have to fight it out for the next many decades,” Kishor said, while criticizing the Congress.
