Fresh from his victory in West Bengal, Prashant Kishor must have thought that Goa is such a small State, and he could easily win it in three months, “Boss yeh Goa hai, yahaan ke log ajeeb hai. Yahan paisa to chalta hai par har insaan apni marji ka malik hai.” (This is Goa, people are strange. Money does work, but they are their own boss.”
In the bargain to win elections, Mamata Banerjee and Kishor went on a shopping spree of MLAs. They made several MLAs resign and join them, be it former chief minister Luizinho Faleiro, Aleixo Reginald Lourenco and Churchill. Alemao.
They also gave a Rajya Sabha seat to Luizinho to win the trust of Goa. But Kishorbab, “Ajeeb hai Goa ke log”. They are not impressed by your theatrics.

The Trinamool Congress, which made its entry into Goa’s political scene with a bang, has surely failed to achieve what the party chief Mamata Banerjee and the I-PAC chief Prashant Kishor had expected.
The TMC spoke of forming the government in the 2022 assembly elections and made a flurry of promises to Goans, which can be termed hypothetical.
Prashant Kishor led a team of I-PAC did manage a few media houses with a massive package for the positive coverage, but they failed to understand the meaning of the statement by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, “Ajeeb hai Goa ke log”.
Fresh from his victory in West Bengal, Prashant Kishor must have thought that Goa is such a small State, and he could easily win it in three months, “Boss yeh Goa hai, yahaan ke log ajeeb hai. But sadly, Luizinho himself has refused to rescue his new love, TMC, as he refused to fight Assembly elections.
Similarly, Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, the most confused politician Goa has ever seen, left them without “any reason”.
In a matter of a few months, Reginald made zero out of himself from a hero. He was in Congress but always had a foot in BJP, then he wanted to join AAP but decided against it, then joined TMC after getting a Congress ticket and then left it and wanted to join INC, but he was rejected and is now fighting independent, where is unlikely to win.
Lavu Mamlatdar, too left the TMC and joined Congress.
The only people left with TMC is the Dhavalikar Brothers, whose party has an alliance with TMC, and Churchill Alemao and his daughter.
While Sudin Dhavalikar is expected to retain his seat, it is unlikely his alliance with TMC would help TMC and other candidates.
So basically, the TMC failed to achieve anything in Goa, but it has shown the true face of Goan politicians, who can stoop to any level for money.
The TMC has revealed how MLAs and parties can be bought for a few crores, irrespective of the principles, ethics, and ideologies. The big talks of ideologies are only for the consumption of the people.
The TMC has also shown that MLAs and leaders can be bought with money, but the people cannot. When it comes to voting, people are their own boss, they may move around with some leaders, but there is no guarantee they would cast a vote for the same candidate.
After all, there is a famous adage, “Ajeeb hai, Goa ke log.”
