PANAJI: Sonu Todu and Atharv Paranjpe booked their place in the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles event at the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 with a convincing performance in the Round of 16. The duo registered a dominant 6–1 win over Nishad Shevde and Siddarth Nunes as competitive action continued across the courts at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and Panjim Gymkhana.
The men’s singles category witnessed several closely fought encounters. Ashwin Narsinghani edged past Vishwambhar 6–4, while Parth Deorukhakar cruised to a 6–1 victory over Sreyas Prasad before later defeating Avish Verma 6–2. Nishad Shevde advanced with a 6–4 win against Arnav Harishankar. At the Gymkhana courts, Praneeth V produced a clinical display to beat Subhash Nayar 6–0, and Ryan Sodhi overcame Kshitij Gupta 6–3. Paul Singh also made a strong statement with a 6–0 win over Ashwath D.
Doubles matches across various rounds added to the excitement. Maaz Khan and Arnav Bansode defeated Raviteja Damera and Ashwath Tiwari 6–2, while Ashwin Narsinghani paired with Prathmesh Patil to beat Dhruv Rao and Subham 6–3. Parth Deorukhakar and Arnav Bansode enjoyed a productive outing, recording wins over Rehaan Diaz and Prajat Halankara 6–2, followed by a 6–4 victory against Eshaan Khadeer and Adam Basha. Other notable results included wins by Avish Verma and Joshua Cardozo, Dhruv Rao and Subham, and Raviteja Damera with Ashwath Tiwari.
The women’s singles draw also saw decisive results. Nidhi began with a 6–0 win over Simran before defeating Deeksha 6–4. Janavi impressed with back-to-back victories, while Unnathi, Trisha, Riya, Atika and Renee also progressed with strong performances.
Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group in association with the Goa State Tennis Association, the tournament has attracted a record 555 entries across the Open and Masters categories, underlining its growing stature on the state tennis calendar.
