PANAJI: The Goa Tourism Department has mandated all watersports operators providing yachting services to comply with the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982, and its associated rules.
An official circular issued on Wednesday stated that operators must register their services within 15 working days of receiving the notice. This directive follows concerns that numerous operators have been offering yacht services without the required No Objection Certificate (NOC), license, or permissions.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik emphasized the department’s commitment to regulating the watersports sector to ensure safety, transparency, and accountability. “Unregulated operations are a risk to both tourists and the environment. We encourage all operators to come forward and formalize their services in accordance with the law,” Naik stated.
This action is part of a broader effort to strengthen compliance among tourism operators and foster responsible tourism in line with Goa’s vision for a sustainable and well-regulated tourism industry.
