PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that the state government has starting making the Tourism Department Swayampurna.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with CCP Mayor Rohit Monserrate laid Foundation stone for the upgraded Jetty Terminal Building & Tourist Facilities at St. Monica Jetty, Panaji
“The state government has started making the state tourism department swayampurna; today laid Foundation stone for the upgraded Jetty Terminal Building & Tourist Facilities. This will make the tourism sector on next level,” said CM Sawant
He further said that almost 60 to 70 percent of tourists coming to Goa compulsarily pay visit to the jetty for cruise tourism.
“Today we see that tourists coming to state do not leave without taking a cruise tourism,” he added
The tourism department said that out of which 2150 SQMT of area given to Cruise Terminal considering Future expansion and the tourist footfall and remaining 3350sqmts area for commercial purpose such as facilities for tourists, commercial outlets, Tourist amenities, entertainment, advertisement, food and beverages, augmented reality, virtual reality and gaming etc. to attract maximum tourist footfall.
“Cruise terminal will have all amenities just like an airport such as waiting area toilets and drinking water facility, disabled friendly premise, food and mercantile kiosks, swift ticket and security check points, public announcements facilities. Waiting area of around 400 people for tourists,” the department said
